The magic shot!!!
08.30.2009 - 08.30.2009
Last night was our last night together as a whole group. Three girls left really early this morning to catch their flights while the rest of us remain for a few more days or so. We had a really nice meal and gave Gaetano and Atilla our guides a fine toast and tip. They really were the best! They also thanked us and said that we were one of the better group of people that they had worked for. The night ended fairly early and I was still feeling pretty sick with a terrible sore throat. Last night was pretty horrible and I couldn´t sleep because every time I swallowed It felt like rasors cutting my throat. So this morning we called a doctor to the hotel. He was great! He spoke English very well by my standards and was really friendly. He gave me the diagnosis of Strep.....which is kinda what I figured it was. He said to take my antibiotics and gave me vitamin C and cough drops for my throat. And then he said that if I wanted he would give me a cortizone shot so that my glands would stop swelling and my throat would feel better. So I said sure and man I am so glad that I did. With in an hour I was feeling amazingly better!!! I wish they could just give you a shot and make you feel better so quickly like that with everything!!! THom was fabulous as always as well. So glad he was here to help take care of me.
Anyway it is technically winter here, the end of our trip and everyone seems to be comming down with something or another. So no worries here it is not swine flu and all is well! Off to do some last min shopping and lunch! It is the last night of our trip before our loooooooooooooooong plane ride back! Miss you guys!

That is great about the cortizone shot. I don't remember them ever giving me or my kids that with strep. It makes sense and obviously it made you feel better. We will have to remember to offer that suggestion to our American doctor's this winter when we get strep. I'm glad your feeling a bit better. I hope your flight home is safe and calm.
With Love,
Wendy
